Geralds Game > Customer Review #1:
ANOTHER SIDE OF STEPHEN KING!

For Stephen King fans who are accustomed to his penchant for horror, "Geralds Game" will seem totally out of line with previous books. Here readers will not find horror or ghouls in the night but a phychological suspense, and Kings creative talents turn to gold in this novel.

Jesse Burlingame finds herself in a game which ends up evoking more than a twinge of kinky excitement and passion. What begins as a game between Jesse and her husband, Gerald, turns to something far more sinister and frightening as Jesse finds herself handcuffed to the bed with a major case of panic setting in. The book is mature in content and definitely not one you would want to leave sitting on your bottom shelf for curious children to explore. What goes on in Jesses mind as the story unfolds is nothing short of pure paranoia and fear.

While this book is far removed from many of Kings other works, in my opinion it is one of his best, outranked only by "The Stand" and "The Green Mile." This is not one of Kings newest books, but it is one of his best to date.

Geralds Game > Customer Review #2:
Its good.... no its bad.... no its good again!

Thats exactly how I felt when reading Geralds Game. It held my interest for the first couple of chapters, but then it dragged. I struggled to get through the middle. Then enters the Space Cowboy and it was back to good old gross and horrifying Stephen King again. Jesses constant arguing in her own mind through the middle of the book became tiresome - I actually set the book aside, read something really good by Dean Koontz, and picked up Geralds Game a few weeks later. Still had difficulty getting through the middle. Every once in a while King would get back to Jesses present day struggle, which was the only thing keeping me with the story - I really was curious as to how Jesse was going to get herself out of those cuffs. I almost gave it up altogether, then King reeled me back in just in time for a creepy ending.... In my opinion, not a must read, but not a bad read.

Geralds Game > Customer Review #3:
A simple game that just got out of hand.

Gerald and Jessie Burlingame take a little time off from their hectic lifestyles to visit their lakeside property in Dark Score, Maine. Gerald had an idea for a little fun, he brought handcuffs along with him to attach Jessie to the bedposts. Harmless enough, until Gerald has a fatal heart attack with Jessie still in cuffs. Now, she has to struggle countless hours to no avail. With hunger setting in and thirst scratching at her throat, she has to find some way to escape from the cuffs. Geralds game is one of the top Stephen King books Ive ever read. It deals with the struggles to stay alive while at the same time, goes back into the past to explore Jessie Burlingames haunting childhood that never seems to leave her alone. She begins to see things in the middle of the night. The question is, are they really there, or are they her imagination?
